Last Of Petunia's Trip To USA

Next we went on a plane and flew to Washington D.C. this is the capital of the U.S.A.

I saw the White House, this is where the President lives and it was very impressive.

We also visited Arlington Cemetery, this is where lots of famous people are buried as well as lots of their armed service people. I also saw this tall spike thing. Its a monument to President George Washington who has been dead for a long time.

The other man sitting in a big chair is President Abraham Lincoln's memorial, but I couldn't get close enough to him to have my photo taken with him.

The next building I saw was the Capital Building and its on Capital Hill and is very beautiful.

We also went to New York.

After lunch we went and visited the Statue of Liberty. She was given to America buy the French as a symbol of peace.

She is very tall and beautiful.

We then went out to dinner to celebrate our last day in America.

Do you like my new necklace mum? Jude bought it for me, so I would look more grown up at the party.

I had a lot to eat and drink and had a great time.

I had a great holiday but I am glad to be home with you again mum.

If you don't like chicken...eat fish.

Thanks so much Judy for taking Petunia over to America with you. Loved the photos and so glad you all had a wonderful holiday.

Fly Me To The Moon....

Hi Mum,

Well we woke up bright and early the next morning and headed off to spend some time at the Australian War Memorial.

I got to sit on the statue of Simpson & his Donkey and I got to see heaps of planes and models and stuff from the wars.

But I also visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Memorial where all the names of those who died during the Wars of the last Century. It was sad but amazing place!

After, we marked our respects by drowning a pint at an Irish Paddy Pub, this beer is Kilkenny and really nice!

Did I say Canberrans like to party?

Holiday Dad has some great contacts, I went to the moon!!

We went to this place in the country and we used this big Foxtel dish to talk to Neil Armstrong. He went to the moon many years ago.

I got to fly in a spaceship and I saw the

Moon,

Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus.

People kept saying "I can see Uranus" and I kept saying, "Well my Mum hasn't made me any pants yet."

But I went to Mars and rode on this buggy and then

returned to Earth in the big cone thing called a return capsule.

What a blast!!!!

Whooo-oooh

Percy.

Oh yeah!!!!

Na-Nu Na-Nu Eat more chicken.

Dear Percy,

You have had an amazing day and I too have been to the Australian War Memorial. I came away humbled and grateful to live in a free democracy and thanked them with my heart for their sacrifices.

I didn't get to go to the space station though. It looked like it was a fun visit.

Don't worry about not having pants, they are just jealous of your cute little toosh.

Love
Mum.

Roger That.

This week Percy travelled to the Airforce Base in Edinburgh, South Australia with flight Sargeant Glen McCarthy. He was able to see an F18 Hornet. Unfortunately they weren't flying, so he couldn't take a spin in the F18 Hornet.

White Cliffs of Dover.

Dear Mum,

The next time you hear from me, I will be in Australia. We get on the big plane tomorrow for the long flight home. I must say that although I have enjoyed my holiday, I am looking forward to being back home with you again.

Mind you, it hasn't been that easy to leave. When it came to flying back to England from Gibralter, Cousin BJ didn't want me to go, Aunty BG stood up for me. Then when we went to the airport, they put us on a bus for Spain instead!

At first I thought it might have been a trick to try and kidnap me again, but it ended out that the planes couldn't land due to fog and we were going to another airport and made it back to London eventually.

Once back in London we drove to Dover and saw the famous White Cliffs and looked across the Channel to France.

Got to pack my bags, looking forward to seeing you soon.

Love
Percy.

Dear Percy,

Can't wait to see you again. The White Cliffs look stunning and I'm glad Aunty BG is taking care of you so well.

Love
Mum.

Dear Mum......

Hi Mum,

I am finally in London after a very long flight. Fortunately I slept most of the way, so I am ready for some adventures now.

Here are some photos from my trip.

Waiting at the Melbourne International Airport having a beer with Uncle BG.

Look! We are above the clouds!

Filling in time at Bangkok Airport.

Love Percy.

Dear Percy,

My goodness how exciting for you. I am so glad you all reached England safely. You look so smart in the tree, very different from our Australian trees.

Glad you got a window seat on the plane too.

keep having fun.

Love mum.
