Family Meeting Family

Pat & I took a road trip up to Burra to see my sister and her little dog Jody. So the 3 piglets came along with us. We were hoping to get a look around Burra, but it was raining and very cold.

So the piglets huddled in Jody's basket and played with Jody. She kept sniffing Rodney and was making sure he's going to be a good little pig while visiting Petunia and her family.

Rodney was a bit worried about the licking of his bottom and was going to join us humans in the kitchen.

So far all 3 piglets are getting along okay. At times I feel my sewing room is turning into a pigsty .....chuckle.

Petunia In The USA part 2

Next day after a long bus ride we arrived at London Bridge.

I was confused because I thought I was in America. Jude explained the bridge used to be in London but was shifted to America by a very rich man.

Back on the bus and we drove through California to Arizona. It took a long time but the ladies on the bus shared their drinks and lollies with me and made me laugh lots.

We stayed in this great motel close to the Grand Canyon and I really liked the sculptures in the garden.

One was a bald eagle (I'm in his right claw).

The other was a mountain lion. Aren't you so glad they weren't real or they might have eaten me.

Wow here I am at the Grand Canyon, it is really big. About 446 km long and up to 29 km wide. It was very windy and I nearly got blown into the canyon, but Jude saved me.

It had snowed the night before so I played in the snow. It was very cold and wet, I didn't like it much.

I also met one of the local animals a Kaibab squirrel.

More photos tomorrow biggrin

Wallaman Falls

Hey Mum,

You know how Holiday Dad promised me a waterfall to visit... well the weather was pretty wet up here so travelling around was a bit risky: there was even a Cyclone off the coast!

So after that passed and time was running out, we went to Wallaman Falls.

Wallaman Falls are the longest and highest falls in Australia, its nearest town is called Ingham which has a history of cane fields and the industrious and productive Italian migrants who came to Australia looking of the promised land. Well they found it in the fertile soils and high rainfall in this area.

Holiday Dad says he has been to Wallaman before in the dry season but really wanted to see it in the wet. And boy was the drive up there fun! Driving through the wet rain-forest into the mountains.

Here are some pictures of me standing at the top lookout of Wallaman Falls looking down. With all the water gushing over the top, the water was spraying down the gorge and everything was getting really, really wet.

The noise was amazing, it sounded like the Fokker F28 Airplane that I caught on the way up to Mangolia!!!

Here are some more shots of me at the waterfalls.

This one I was half way down and already into the spray of the waterfall..... it was a 240m drop in altitude from the top to the bottom and it was off the steep cliff.

The goat track zigged and zagged its way down the muddy slops and was full of bird nest ferns and vines with spines.

This photo was shot when I got down to the bottom and we were all wet and muddy. There was a river flowing down the stones and I am real glad that Holiday Dad had his waterproof backpack for me to travel in. I only got a bit damp for the photo opportunities, otherwise I was snug and dry inside.

More photos soon mum

Eat more chicken.

Love Percy.

Dear Percy,

Gosh those photos are amazing, I have only ever seem little waterfalls. So glad you didn't get lost and found having a mud bath.....lol

I can almost hear the water falling in the photos.

Love
Mum.

Tea Rooms Pt 2

Dear Mum,

At the tea rooms is an old train tunnel that goes under the mountain. Here are some pics of me looking at it from a distance.

Here I am at the other side if the tunnel.

Behind me is the old train line that goes into the tunnel.

Wonder if I should take a closer look at the tunnel?

We went inside the tunnel and there was a snake and there were lots of bats. Lots of darkness and there were lots more bats and more bats still!!!!

One of the bats brushes up against me! Oink!

Yay made it to the other side.

Uncle PNG Steve says they eat bats in PNG!

Eat more bats.

Love
Percy.

Dear Percy,

I loved the bat and snake photos. I haven't seen a lot of bats in my life time, closest was back in 1980. Love snakes and I have a photo of me holding a big python.

Love all the greenery in the photos and glad you didn't get run over by a ghost train.

Love
Mum.

Tea Rooms Pt 1

Hi Mum,

We went to Hervey's Tea Rooms and had a cup of tea. But none of that $50 coffee!!
Its really nice and green up here and its much cooler than Townsville and real country fresh air.

There is a waterfall with Pandanus.

The cow paddock is nice and green.

There is a creek next to the tea rooms.

Also at the tea rooms, you can go on a nature walk and see heaps of pretty Butterflies and spiders.

Check them out mum!!!

Pretty cool huh mum??

Eat more chicken.

Love
Percy.

Dear Percy,

How about that, drinking tea in a tea room, sounds like my sort of outing. All that greenery is lovely. We have a tinge of green back home here now.

Those spider photos are so cool....love spiders. Butterflies are pretty too.

Love
Mum.

Garden Visits Pt 1

Hey Mum,

Back in Mangolia and today we went and saw some gardens and saw lots of pretty flowers and fruits and big trees and stuff.

Here are some shots of being silly at Dan Gleeson Gardens and at Anderson's Gardens.

The big sausages come from a sausage tree.

The big green fruit are called Elephant Puzzle Fruit.

And they tied me up to a Pandanus! Anus nothing, that looks like a big *^%$!!!!!!!!!

More to come tomorrow of these amazing gardens.

Bye Percy.

Eat more beef sausages.

Dear Percy,

Well you sure have come across some strange fruits in your travels. You seem to be growing up and becoming more worldly in your posts too.
wink

A little tip from your mum, size doesn't matter, okay sweetie.........

Glad to see in the last photo, you had your safety harness on.
mrgreen

Love

Mum

I've Got Mail

Oh look what Auntie Clare sent me. mrgreen

I was so excited when mum showed me the 1/4 metre of fabric and the luggage tag for when I travel.

I'm going to get mum to make me a travel bag so I don't feel the plastic bag rub on my body, when I am traveling. Maybe then I won't feel so much like a slab of bacon either. lol

Also Auntie Clare has invited me to her place too. Thanks Auntie Clare your the best.

Hugs to you Auntie Clare.

Eat more chicken.

P.S. Don't forget tomorrow my baby sister is going to be seen for the first time, at mum's sewing morning.

I Have A Baby Sister.

Hello readers,

Today has been such an amazing day for me. First off I got to see my mum after being away on holidays for a month or so.

After hugs and cuddles mum, Auntie Deb and myself caught a couple of buses to Hettie's Patch. It was time to pick up my new baby sister.

Here is mum & me outside Hettie's Patch ready to go inside and see my baby sister. We were so excited. Auntie Debbie is the photographer and so she isn't in any of the photos.

This is the first family photo with my baby sister.

These photos were taken in the nursery material section.

Close up of me and my sister. As she's a new born, mum said she will be cared for in the sewing room. When she's a bit bigger, my sister will have some more baby photos for you to see.

As I can't keep calling her "my baby sister" we need a name for her. Mum & Auntie Deb came up with 6 names for her and can't pick one out of them.

So mum thought a poll would be nice. So when you mean my baby sister next, she'll have a name.

Then we will both be able to travel the world sending mum postcards. I have so many invites to go places...... thought it was time to share the travels.

So pretty please vote for a name from the list on the right of my postings.

Eat more chicken.
